I’m always attempting to learn more about bikes! I have trained in the following formats and situations:

  • YCRS (Yamaha ChampSchool)

  • YCRS “ChampStreet”

  • American Supercamp

  • SoCal Supermoto

  • Private Instruction with Chris Peris

Learning Opportunities

YCRS (Yamaha ChampSchool)

The second time I’d attended a YCRS school, I participated in the two day program, with an additional day training with an instructor. I had the pleasure of working with Chris Peris. This was the day I realized I needed to start racing. Up to this point, I knew I wanted to compete in the sport, just wasn’t sure how or in what capacity. This got me excited to road racing. I learned valuable skills to get me started.

SoCal Supermoto

With an amazing instructor, SoCal Supermoto was tons of fun and helped me learn the dynamics of sumo riding. Going into it, I expected a ton of review, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I was able to learn!

YCRS “ChampStreet”

By the time I had my second motorcycle (2020 BMW F850 GS), it was clear I needed to learn more skills. Signing up for ChampStreet changed my life. As my very first formal introduction to trail braking, it helped prevent me from crashing in the canyons many times after.

Private Instruction with Chris Peris

After YCRS, it was clear I wanted to start road racing. So, the month after, I scheduled 3 days in a row of private training with Chris. He helped me really drive home the skills learned from YCRS. After suffering from a near fatal motorcycle crash, I wanted more than anything to get back on the bike. That’s when I scheduled another series of training sessions with Chris. My initial session was ambitious at the very least. It was grueling due to my injuries, but Chris helped me get something out of it. Then I worked with him again in December 2021 prior to my start of racing. I went from a laptime of nearly 2:46 at Inde to a laptime of 2:11 in 3 days.

Private Instruction with Adam Zisa

In the beginning of my track adventures, I was hesitant about getting my knee down and was very bad at body position. Adam helped me get started with knee down parking lot practice, helping me better grip the bars, have better control of my brake without losing body position, and getting my body position and posture correct. All in the matter of a few hours!

American Supercamp

Out in Eaton, Colorado, I took the flat track focused “American Supercamp.” This two-day class was spearheaded by Danny Walker, Robbie Peterson, and Hayden Gillim. In two days, I learned how to properly slide the rear into a corner, safely brake, utilize the rear brake even under low-traction environments, and much more.
